One of our greatest values and greatest inspiration is our connection.
In our feminine journey, we got chances to know very inspiring women who are different, authentic, but at the same time equally filled with feminine warmth and passion for life.
One of them is a brave lecturer full of life, passion and artistry, actress and founder of the production company.
Meet Giedre and daily life things from her perspective
1. How would you introduce yourself? What best describes you?
An actor, producer, CEO of RAION production house.
2. The first role?
In Kaunas children’s theatre ”Vilkolakis”, when I was six, I played an egg and received the main prize! Apparently, my egg rolling was not that bad..
3. What fascinated and inspired to be an actress?
Movies! As far as I can remember myself, I grew up watching really serious movies. By the way, I still watch the same movies now. I remember thinking that if something could cause to feel so involved, excited, make you laugh or cry, then I would want to be a part of it. Also, I was always fascinated by the creative process itself, the opportunity to be a variety of different characters, among creative and talented people. It was always difficult to direct myself into one profession, it seemed like I wanted to be everything. Acting solves this dilemma perfectly, It allows you to experience and live out many fates. But I feel a strong desire to test myself not just as an actress, will live, will see.
4. Is there a favorite project that was brought to life, to which you have contributed to? Why was it so unique?
Yes, the performance “Man from Podolsk”. This was the first play produced by my production company “RAION”, in which I was also acting. This performance is like the beginning of everything on the Lithuanian theatre scene. While visiting in Moscow, I saw the original play. I was impressed and decided to try to produce it in Lithuania. That’s where it all started. I received the rights from the author of the play, gathered a team, started working, and later was joined by the director Oscar Koršunov, who directed this play. The pandemic has significantly changed our plans, but we are not giving up. Many new projects are expected in the near future, stay tuned!
R. Banionis’ film “Purple Fog” will always be a special one to me. This is my first role in Lithuania. I feel great gratitude to director Raimund, who trusted me and gave me the opportunity to work together.
5. The experience of living and studying across the Atlantic is certainly not usual.. What are the most memorable moments from your studying times in America?
First of all, it’s the teachers. Wonderful educators, talented and well-known actors, as well as unique people. Their assistance, understanding and support were one of the strongest motivations not to give up, believing in yourself and your talent. They were able to see in us something that we didn’t even know we had. With the majority of them I keep close contact until now. I often talk to them about acting, creative questions or we just joke around and laugh, sometimes we even cry. What stuck to me was the method of teaching acting, and approaching the character that is being created. With great pleasure I am sharing this desire here, in Lithuania, by teaching students at the Lithuanian Academy
of Music and Theatre. I hope that this technique is helping them and this will further establish the creative path of young actors.
6. How does Your favorite day to relax looks like?
It’s very simple. A filling breakfast, my beloved sofa and Youtube channel. Also, I quit often and very much listen to all sorts of music. So, I would add a few vinyls or a beloved concert.
7. Is there a play or a movie to which you keep coming back, which you will never get bored of…?
Oscar Koršunova’s ”Žuvėdra”. This performance always touches me, even though I’ve seen it almost six times. It’s very real, very human. Amazing acting cannot get boring. It can only get more and more fascinating. As for movies, there are many. In general, I can watch the same movies a dozen of times. Good movies don’t get boring. Good movies never get old. “American beauty” I could watch every single day.
8. Favourite ritual is..?
Running. Nida.
9. Favourite place..?
Movie set.
10. What is true beauty to you?
Happy eyes and inner charm.
11. Do actors, people involved with production and the stage; see other people differently, in their own way? What do you see first in others?
I think so. They analyze more, watch, try to understand, and then, perhaps, one way or another, adapts into their artistic creations. I myself often notice other’s gait, posture, what and how people wear. It was not too long ago I began to boldly pay attention to the eyes of a person. They just don’t learn how to lie 🙂
12. The best gift for yourself is…?
SLEEP. Then To be surrounded by ture, good, vibrant people. Or sports car also wouldn’t be a bad choice.
13. Are there boundaries between beloved work, activity, and private life? Or at this stage work is life?
Perhaps, if It occurs naturally. Work for me is life. When I do my beloved work, I feel great satisfaction.
14. Is there a feminine ritual for beauty in your routine?
Sea, sun, sand and tropical climate! The world has not came up with an idea of better SPA yet.
15. Beauty standards, complexes, and love for yourself… Have you experienced any of those and what could you add to this subject?
Self love is not something you can learn or you can buy, it is something that somehow comes by itself, with activity, self-confidence. Charm, energy and just being real to yourself no makeup or plastic surgery, unfortunately, cannot compensate. I have a number of complexes, but I try to look at them in a simple way and not over think them. Hide what you don’t like and emphasize what you like. Energy still defeats everything, so – go!
